Brammer appointed new MD for Czech Republic and Slovakia

Brammer, one of the leading European distributors of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tomáš Flajsar (40) as the new Managing Director of the company’s operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Tomáš Flajsar replaces Ladislav Burian, who served as the Managing Director from 2010, and who has now moved on to new challenges.

Tomáš Flajsar has more than 10 years experience in managing positions dealing with business development, general management, sales, purchasing and logistics in the engineering industry, with a focus, in particular, on vacuum machinery, automotive and railway markets.

Before joining Brammer, Mr. Flajsar worked as the General Manager for Edwards for the Czech Republic. Edwards is part of Atlas Copco Group and is a global leader in the development and manufacture of vacuuming equipment. In this position Mr. Flajsar was responsible for the factory in Lutín and the European Distribution Centre in Prostějov. He also held management roles in Hanácké železárny a pérovny a.s. (2004-2009), part of Moravia Steel, and Oděvný podnik a.s. (1998-2003), both based in Prostějov.

Talking about his new appointment, Mr. Flajsar said: “I am excited to take on such a challenging new role and I will endeavour to strengthen Brammer’s position on both the Czech and Slovak markets. The whole team at Brammer will be focused on continuing to offer the highest level of service and professionalism to its customers, and we plan to work closely with our suppliers in order to enhance our existing cooperation. I believe that the key to achieving our goals is to have a professional and highly motivated team and I will be delighted to work with such a team and face all the challenges in my new and demanding position.”

Mr. Flajsar studied at the Brno University of Technology and also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. His biggest life-long hobby is handball, which he played actively for 34 years and which he is still involved in as a coach of young talented players. He is a native Czech and speaks fluent English.
