Czech football union asks UEFA for loan after subsidy scandal

The Czech Football Association (FACR) only has money for a few days and it will have to ask the UEFA for a loan because the Ministry for Education, Youth and Sports suspended the distribution of its subsidies, FACR secretary Rudolf Řepka said yesterday.

Zaorálek, Štech might be ČSSD candidate for president

Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek or Senate chairman Milan Štech (both Social Democrats, ČSSD) might be the ČSSD candidate for Czech president, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, who is the party's leader, told iDnes.cz news server yesterday. "This is one of the things caused by the conflict with Andrej Babiš and Miloš Zeman," Sobotka said.

All are losing in the Czech government crisis, but the biggest loser is democracy, Slovak daily Dennik N. reported yesterday, adding that President Miloš Zeman and ANO head Andrej Babiš emerged from it weakened, but their chance to recover the loss is higher than PM Bohuslav Sobotka's.
