MfD: Czech-Afghan chamber of commerce project fails

The Czech-Afghan Chamber of Commerce was considered a promising project when it was ceremonially established in 2005, but it has resulted in a failure, generating debts worth of millions of crowns that still remain uncovered, daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) wrote on Thursday.

Poll: Most Czechs not against inclusion at school

Court upholds Dahlgren's life sentence for murdering family of 4

Convicted lobbyist Dalík demanding renewal of trial

Lobbyist Marek Dalik, serving his four-year prison sentence for corruption in the purchase of the Pandur armoured personnel carriers for the Czech military, has proposed that the trial be reopened, Prague Municipal Court spokeswoman Marketa Puci has confirmed to CTK.

Czech president signs copyright bill into law

Czech President Milos Zeman signed an amendment to the copyright law under which copyright fees can be raised by inflation and any higher increase must be approved by the Culture Ministry, Zeman's spokesman Jiri Ovcacek told CTK on Thursday.

President Zeman signs bill restricting abuse of posted workers

A draft amendment restricting firms' effort to lower their costs by abusing the institute of posting workers abroad on a temporary basis, which transposes a European directive into Czech legislation, was signed by President Milos Zeman on Thursday, his spokesman Jiri Ovcacek has told CTK.
