Czech military to stage biggest reserve exercises in 2016

The Czech military will stage the biggest exercise of active reserves since they were created at the Libava training ground in northern Moravia in March and April, Chief-of-Staff Josef Becvar said.

The Czech Republic must help people in need, but at the same time it must think of its own security, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said on Czech Television (CT) Sunday and added that he was disappointed at Jean-Claude Juncker's words about an unchanged attitude to migration.

Polish driver charged in Czech case of fatal crash with train

Plaque commemorates those expelled from Czech borderland in 1938

A plaque commemorating the Czechs, Jews and anti-Nazi-minded Germans expelled from the Czechoslovak border areas after the signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938 was unveiled yesterday at Prague´s Masaryk Railway Station where many of the expellees were arriving in autumn 1938.

HN: Court not to return plots to Liechtenstein family

HN: Environmentalists to monitor animals with cameras

The Nature Conservation Agency (AOP) plans to buy cameras and also drones for half a million crowns for money from European funds to better monitor the movement and occurrence of large beasts of prey that are returning to the Czech landscape, daily Hospodářské noviny (HN) reported yesterday.
