Pension system is sustainable without reform, govt's study shows

The current Czech pay-as-you-go pension system is sustainable in spite of population ageing, Vladimír Špidla, chief aide to Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka (Social Democrats, ČSSD), told journalists yesterday, referring to a Government Office's study that is available to ČTK.

Baltic military mission wins Czech parliament's support

The Senate approved today the mission of up to 290 Czech troops in Lithuania and Latvia next year within NATO's multinational Enhanced Forward Presence unit in the Baltics, which is a reaction to the Russian threat.

Senate enables exemptions to duty to release contracts online

Some Czech state-controlled companies will be granted an exemption to the duty to release all their contracts in the central online register since the Senate did not block the passage of the amendment to relevant law yesterday.

Czech minister voices concern about Polish judiciary reform

Justice Minister Robert Pelikán has sent a letter to his Polish counterpart, Zbigniew Ziobro, voicing concern about Poland's draft judiciary reform now under discussion and urging Ziobro to reassess the bill on the supreme court which the Sejm passed in first reading on Tuesday.

Senate approves EU-Cuba agreement on political dialogue

Police not to work overtime without compensation
