Christian Democrats approve election coalition with STAN

Prague Jews have first new Torah scrolls since 1930s

Two Torah scrolls that were stored in the Old-New Synagogue in Prague on Sunday have been the first new scrolls that the Prague Jewish Community has had since the 1930s, the community's spokeswoman Dita Snajdrova said after the ceremony last night.

Environment Ministry to pay CZK 3.4 billion for boiler subsidies

Czechs can again draw subsidies for environmentally friendly boilers using biomass of 3.4 billion crown in total, that is maximally 127,500 crowns per boiler, which would cover up to 80 percent of its price, Environment Minister Richard Brabec (ANO) told reporters on Thursday.

Court: Police steps during Chinese president's visit legal

Neither the police nor the City Hall violated law by not having let demonstrators enter a square outside Prague Castle during the visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping last March, the Prague Municipal Court ruled on Thursday in reaction to a former minister's complaint.
