Poll: ANO would win general election in February

The Czech ANO movement of Finance Minister Andrej Babis would win a general election with 29 percent of the vote if held in February, followed by the senior government Social Democrats with 21 percent, according to a Median poll released to CTK on Thursday.

PM: Babiš only takes part in half of Ecofin talks

It is Finance Minister Andrej Babiš who does not defend Czech interests, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said yesterday in reaction to criticism of his absence from a part of the upcoming EU summit, adding that Babiš only took part in 51 percent of the meetings of EU financial ministers.

Finance Minister Andrej Babiš, leader of ANO, which is a coalition government member, is still the most trusted politician, followed by Tomio Okamura, head of the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), according to a poll conducted by the CVVM polling institute in February and released yesterday.
