ČSSD: Babiš should not be in renewed Czech cabinet

Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) should not be in a next Czech government if is formed on the basis of the current coalition composed of the Social Democrats (CSSD), ANO and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), the CSSD board agreed on Wednesday.

Government may resign after Zeman's return from China

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka (ČSSD) will probably tender the government's resignation to President Miloš Zeman after Zeman's return from China in mid-May, Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek (ČSSD) told Czech Television on Wednesday. At first, Sobotka was to do so on Thursday. "As far as I know, tomorrow (on Thursday), Sobotka will visit Zeman to inform him that he was ready to tender the resignation roughly in mid-May," Zaorálek said.

PM to offer govt's resignation over Babiš' dubious deals

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka will hand his cabinet's resignation over controversial business activities of Finance Minister Andrej Babiš to President Miloš Zeman this week, he told journalists on Tuesday. He said it is up to the outgoing gov't parties to discuss the situation. A solution could be the establishment of another joint government of the ČSSD, ANO and the Christian Democrats, he said.
