Czech project checks veracity of politicians' statements

Over one-fifth of politicians' statements were false or misleading in the past five years, Jan Tvrdon, head of the Demagog.cz project that checked over 7,500 statements by roughly 340 Czech politicians, told CTK on Friday.

STAN accepts offer to form election coalition with KDU-ČSL

The Czech opposition Mayors and Independents (STAN) movement agreed yesterday that it will negotiate with the junior government Christian Democrats (KDU-ČSL) about the creation of a coalition for the October general election, STAN head Petr Gazdík has announced. The decision was approved by 81 percent of the delegates to STAN's national assembly.
